For more than ten years, ARCOLOR has been recording steady growth in China in the field of water-based decor printing inks. Three decisive factors determined this: Our comprehensive know-how in the application of decor printing, state-of-the-art technologies and expertise in the manufacture of high-performance products in decor rotogravure printing as well as a team of highly qualified staff on site.
It became necessary to build our own facility in China in order to meet the diverse needs of our customers – as well as to further improve flexibility, service and time-to-market.
That is why we launched a feasibility study for our own production factory in Quzhou (Zhejiang province) in spring 2022. The ground-breaking ceremony for the construction on a 20,000 m2 site was held in March 2023.
It took just 388 days to bring the project to completion. The official opening ceremony took place on October 23, 2024.
The dimensions of the building are large enough to accommodate future growth opportunities. The production floor space currently measures around 2,400 m2 and can be easily expanded if required. A production capacity of over 15,000 tons per year is feasible over the long term. The Quzhou site will now not only develop, produce and market water-based decor printing inks, but also water-based printing inks for the packaging industry.
A warehouse measuring approximately 3,000 m² rounds off the production facility. This will increase the security of supply and reliability that our customers in China are looking for. The warehouse also means we can optimize the management of our key raw materials as well as semi-finished and finished products.

As a development partner, we not only aim to be close to our customers with regard to production technology and logistics, but the new factory has also made it possible for us to quickly provide our customers in China with optimum solutions thanks to our own development department and application technology.
Our production is not only economical, but also eco-friendly. This is why all ARCOLOR inks produced in China are also completely water-based. We have installed a photovoltaic system with an output of 662 kWp to cover some of our energy requirements.
