Review of an eventful day
In spring 2020, after 2 years of construction, we moved into the extension building and in 2021 ARCOLOR celebrated its 25th anniversary. Good reasons to celebrate. On May 21, 2022, we opened our doors to visitors from the region as well as to the families and friends of our employees. Around 400 interested individuals gained an insight into the spacious buildings, modern laboratories and production lines.
On a signposted tour, our employees provided information at various posts about the relevant work steps, willingly providing information about their activities and sharing their expertise. Additional short videos, presentations and posters described the individual processes.
Right at the beginning, visitors were provided an overview of raw materials as well as end products and their applications by means of samples and were amazed to learn that they encounter ARCOLOR water-based printing inks again and again in their daily lives.
About one third of our team works in Research & Development. Modern analysis and measurement equipment supports them in their daily work. Our visitors also had the opportunity to perform analyses and measurements themselves.
The building extension has led to a further automation and optimization of the production processes. Owing to the fact that no production took place on this special day for safety reasons, visitors were able to inspect the vacuum intake systems, bead mills, stirrers and filling systems more closely.
Industrial inkjet printing was explained in the printing technology center: it is hardly conceivable that around 27 billion drops are jetted onto the paper on a 2.2 m wide printer with around 425,000 nozzles – per second! It was with great enthusiasm that our visitors took a closer look at various printouts from large-format printers and they were amazed to learn what ARCOLOR inkjet inks are capable of.
Our young guests enjoyed themselves on a bouncy castle or eagerly searched for figures made from samples and positioned in the laboratory rooms.
